Last week in Gates Town Court I was able to obtain a DWAI plea for a client in his early 20’s.  The original charges were the misdemeanor of DWI and speeding.  He had allegedly blown a BAC of .13 after being pulled over for travelling at 85 mph on 490.

Key to the plea was my client’s willingness to participate in a program called Alive@25.  This is a program for younger drivers meant to increase safety awareness and driving skills.  I was lucky enough to have attended a presentation by the organization responsible for this program last year.  I knew it might allow me to obtain a reduction in the charges for my client if he chose to attend.

Sometimes cases like this require creative solutions.  Please contact me if you find yourself in a similar situation.
